SUMMARY:Picasso at the Lapin Agile
DESCRIPTION:By Steve Martin\nDirected by Natalie Roe \nParis. 1904. Wine o’clock. \nOn a not-so ordinary evening at the Lapin Agile\, Montmartre’s iconic cabaret bar favoured by struggling artists\, anarchists and intellectuals alike\, two soon-to-be legends find themselves sitting next to each other. It turns out Pablo Picasso and Albert Einstein\, with egos as big as their intellects\, have a lot to talk about. As the streets outside grow darker\, the cafe is lit up with dizzying debate about the promise of the 20th century. But events take a surreal turn when a certain blue suede shoe-wearing singer from the future shows up… \nAmerican actor\, writer and comedian\, Steve Martin\, plays fast and loose with history in this hilarious absurdist comedy. \nThis amateur production of “Picasso at the Lapin Agile” is presented by arrangement with Concord Theatricals Ltd. on behalf of Samuel French Ltd. www.concordtheatricals.co.uk \nEstimated running time – 1 hour 20 minutes (no interval) \nRecommended age – 14+ \nPerformances\nJoin us at Theatre@41. \n\nTuesday 29 October 2024\, 7.30pm\nWednesday 30 October 2024\, 7.30pm\nThursday 31 October 2024\, 7.30pm\nFriday 1 November 2024\, 7.30pm\nSaturday 2 November 2024\, 2.30pm & 7.30pm\n\nCast\n\nFreddy – Darren Barrott\nGaston – Glyn Morrow\nGermaine – Katie Leckey\nAlbert Einstein – Mark Simmonds\nSuzanne – Helen Clarke\nSagot – Natalie Melia\nPablo Picasso – James Lee\nSchmendiman – Serafina Coupe\nThe Countess/Female Admirer – Emily Hansen\nA Visitor – Ray Raper
