SUMMARY:Loot
DESCRIPTION:By Joe Orton\nDirected by Katie Leckey \n“Has anybody ever hidden money in a coffin?” \nYork Settlement Community Players are proud to present Joe Orton’s Loot. A masterfully scandalous\, free-wheeling and ferocious farce about life’s ultimate taboo…death. \nContent guidance\nJoe Orton wrote Loot in 1965\, and the script is deliberately controversial and thought-provoking – tackling some very dark themes and including satirical attitudes on the Roman Catholic Church\, the police force and how society views death. The YCSP production stays largely close to the original script and as such has an age guidance of 16+. The show contains adult themes and offensive language (including sexism and xenophobia). There are also sexual references and references to sexual assault (including rape and necrophilia) and references to smoking on stage. \nPerformances\nJoin us at the York Theatre Royal Studio. \n\nTuesday 18 Feb\, 19:45\nWednesday 19 Feb\, 19:45\nThursday 20 Feb\, 19:45\nFriday 21 Feb\, 19:45\nSaturday 22 Feb\, 14:00 & 19:45\nMonday 24 Feb\, 19:45\nTuesday 25 Feb\, 19:45\nWednesday 26 Feb\, 19:45\nThursday 27 Feb\, 19:45\n\nBook online. \nCast\n\n\nMrs McLeavy – Caroline Greenwood\n\n\nMr McLeavy – Paul French\n\n\nFay – Emily Carhart\n\n\nHal – Jack Mackay\n\n\nDennis – Miles John\n\n\nMeadows – Emily Hansen\n\n\nTruscott – Stuart Green\n\n\nEdith the Church Organist – Helen Clarke\n\n\nSister Barbara – Xandra Logan\n\n\nPriest – James Wood\n\n\nSergeant Timothy Carruthers – Chris Meadley\n\n\nMrs Edna Welthorpe – Victoria Delaney\n\n\nKeith Kevin O’Keefe – Serafina Coupe
