Our annual Christmas Extravaganza co-hosted with York Shakespeare Project will be at St Lawrence Church Hall, Lawrence Street, on **Friday 12 December at 7.30pm**.
All members of YSCP and their guests are warmly invited to come along.
The idea is for a convivial get together over mulled wine and a mince pie with the evening’s entertainment coming from those among us who are minded to do a seasonal turn. We have always had a lovely response to this event since launching it in 2018.
To reserve your place, it is £6 (members and their guests) to YSCP:
Lloyds TSB
Sort code: 30-99-99
Account number: 01080652
Contact maurice.crichton@ntlworld.com who is dealing with payment. £6 includes a couple of glasses of mulled wine or non-alcoholic punch and a mince pie (see photo).
Tony Froud is again organising the entertainment and will be Master of Ceremonies for the evening itself. He would love to hear from those of you who would like to perform as the success of past evenings has largely rested on the varied entertainment provided by attendees.
We are looking for a short seasonal performance of some kind: a song, a skit, a character sketch, a variety act, a reading, an bit of improv, a speech (or what you will). You could do it solo, as a double act or as part of a group, and be as polished or as impromptu as you choose. To book a slot and bagsy your material (first come, first served) contact tonyfroud@hotmail.com right away so that he can begin to put together the programme. How long is a slot? Let Tony have an idea of how long you think it will take you to deliver your material (as short as you like but no more than 5 or 6 minutes). Depending on the response, he may need you to cut it down. He may have a few suggestions if you want to perform but don’t have an immediate idea.
You are invited to bring something to keep the party going: a drink, a nibble.
This is not a fundraiser: any profits will go to a homelessness charity.
We look forward to seeing you there!
