Are you interested in writing a short play? Perhaps you’ve already written one that you’d love to see performed? If so then keep reading, as we’re delighted to announce that our script window for YSCP’s Direct Approach 2023 is now open!
We’re looking for 30-40 minute new plays with 4-5 characters to stage in an informal and intimate space at a pub in York.
Topics in past Direct Approach plays have ranged from dystopian futures to homicidal dog walkers, so it’s a very open brief but it needs to be something that can realistically be staged by a new director in a small venue on a small budget and with minimal set.
The plays that will be performed will be selected by YSCP in conjunction with the new director/s.

If your script is to be produced, you will need to join YSCP as soon as it is matched with a director.
